Meet Jessie Jones or New Lead Instructor

Jess Jones has achieved success at each level of tennis. Throughout his junior playing career spanning from 2006-2014 he was ranked #1 in both Georgia and the Southern Section. In 2010 he was the recipient of the Georgia Junior Male Player of the Year. In addition, Jess was ranked in the top 10 in the nation in each division from 12’s to 18’s, winning a national open in Singles and Doubles in each age group. His career high national ranking of #2 came in 2012 when he was 16 years old. During this year he reached the Quarterfinals of Singles and Doubles at the most prestigious junior tennis tournament in the world, The Orange Bowl International Championship where he played Andrey Rublev, the eventual champion and current top 20 ATP player in the world.

As a blue chip recruit rated #12 in the 2014 graduating class, Jess had his pick of top tier Division 1 Universities. He decided to commit to The University of Tennessee, where they achieved a top 10 national ranking in his tenure. After Jess’s Sophomore season he transferred to play at Clemson University where he graduated in 2018 with a major in Sports Communication and a minor in Athletic Leadership. During his college career he competed in numerous Division 1 NCAA Championships.
Upon graduation Jess was offered the opportunity to be a Graduate Assistant for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams at The University of North Georgia, while completing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. During his time at UNG both teams were ranked top 10 in the Nation in Division 2. He also brings a wide array of junior coaching experience working at various high performance tennis academies during the summer throughout college. Furthermore, Jess has experience conducting private lessons with all ages and skill from beginners, high level juniors, and adults.
